Daifuku Webb to acquire Wynright Corporation

Strengthening its materials handling systems business in North America


Daifuku Webb, a subsidiary of material handling systems specialist Daifuku Co, has agreed to buy Wynright Corporation, strengthening its business in North America and improving its products and services. No financial information has been revealed.

Wynright is a US-based provider of intelligent material handling systems, including conveyor and sorting systems, voice- and light-directed order fulfilment technology, a suite of warehouse controls and execution software, robotics, mezzanines, and structures.

'The acquisition of Wynright will strengthen our business in North America and greatly improve the services and products we offer our customers, which is always our focus,' said Brian Stewart, Chairman, President and CEO of Daifuku Webb.

'We have worked with Wynright on several projects and have great respect for their expertise in designing, manufacturing, integrating and installing intralogistics solutions that are helping some of the world’s largest and fastest-growing companies.'

Wynright, headquartered in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, with regional offices and manufacturing locations throughout the US, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Daifuku Webb.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013, Daifuku Webb said.

Daifuku Webb, headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, develops material handling technology such as Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), conveyors, baggage handling systems, bulk handling systems, cleanroom systems and airport maintenance services.
