Europlaz opens fourth Class 7 cleanroom

The new cleanroom will contain all electric machinery to cater for a new project and a new customer

Europlaz Technologies has announced the opening of its fourth ISO class 7 cleanroom at its Essex site, which is to contain all electric, energy efficient machinery to cater for a new project and a new customer.

Europlaz offers a complete solution from medical device concept to completion. Cleanroom four will contain four injection moulding machines and dedicated production assembly and packaging cells to offer a seamless transition from moulding to finished, packaged product.

The cleanroom has been up and running since May this year and will contain four new, all electric injection moulding machines.

The chosen equipment is part of the Sumitomo Plastics Machinery’s new SE-DUZ Series, which is said to deliver unmatched precision, high-speed performance, exceptional energy efficiency and increased overall productivity.

“Energy efficiency is a serious consideration for Europlaz moving forward and, as well as introducing this new energy efficient machinery, we are also beginning a process of operational improvement and sustainability programmes around the factory to prove green really is lean,” said the company.

The company now has four cleanrooms, built solely for the manufacture of medical and pharmaceutical products are accredited to ISO class 7 and ISO 14644.
