Six UV air and surface disinfection units quickly inactivate viruses and bacteria

UV Light Technology has launched a range of UV air and surface disinfection units for the speedy inactivation of viruses, bacteria, fungi, moulds and yeasts.

The Birmingham, UK-based UV equipment manufacturer says the products provide UV-C light irradiance levels previously not seen with this type of lighting technology. The high UV light output is the result of an optimum combination of UV germicidal double tube configuration and high frequency electronic ballast, along with a computer-optimised full spectrum grade aluminium reflector. This enables rapid disinfection of air and surfaces for pharmaceutical, laboratory and medical applications.

There are six models in sizes from 30cm to 1.2m and power levels from 18W to 150W. The lights are wall- or ceiling-mounted for direct air and surface disinfection in rooms or open areas when people are not present, or where people exposed are fully protected by personal protective equipment. In addition they can be mounted over specific surfaces, conveyors or within cabinet enclosures for surface disinfection.

The UV lamps are compact, lightweight and made from aluminium to provide robustness and durability. They are IP65 rated and therefore suitable for use in wet environments. Mounting brackets are provided for easy installation and adjustment to directly irradiate the required area. Their modular design allows multiple UV lamps units to be used for large areas.

The UV tubes can be wrapped in clear UV-C transparent plastic to contain glass fragments and mercury in the event of breakages.
