Hosokawa 5D containment screens offer greater operational movement

User-friendly alternative to more restrictive barrier containment methods

Hosokawa Micron’s 5D containment screens create a physical barrier between the operator and the source of dust particles enabling contamination levels of <1µg/m3 to be achieved, a result more routinely achieved in a glovebox or isolator, the clean air specialist says.

The 5D screens offer movement up and down, back to front, side to side, tilt and pivot, giving greater operational movement than other restricted movement screens.

The screens move easily to allow the operator maximum freedom to carry out procedures without restriction, but they can also be locked into set positions should this be required for safety reasons. When not in use the screens can be secured against the wall of the booth.

The 5D screens are the latest addition to Hosokawa’s rigid and flexible 2D, 3D and 4D screens. The rigid screens are made from glass or clear Perspex and are available in any size.

Customers can also choose from a range of neoprene, vinyl or latex glove or gauntlet options fitted within the screens to suit individual requirements. It is also possible to retro fit the containment screens into existing downflow booths to improve operator protection levels.
