Suitable for use in demanding environments such as pharma and food and beverage inspections

PPT Vision, a Datalogic company, has extended the capabilities of the M-Series family of integrated machine vision systems to a range of IP67 rated cameras.

The Minneapolis, US-based firm says key markets where IP67 standards are critical include pharmaceuticals and food and beverage inspections with wash-down and disinfection processes, along with automotive and general manufacturing, where fumes, gases, sparks, metal particles, dust, humidity, oil and solvents require special protection.

“These models are sealed against dust and water spray, with an attached protective tube with polycarbonate window to achieve IP67 rating and perform in these critical conditions,” said Bob Heller, chief executive of PPT Vision. “They are ready to integrate within a new or existing M-Series embedded vision system for a fast, cost-effective solution.”

A GigE-compatible, monochrome IP67 camera offers: flexible trigger and exposure modes for high-quality images; resolutions from 640 x 480 to 2448 x 2050; a global shutter and strobe controller for perfect exposure, and high-performance temperature management.

To support these models, PPT Vision has launched Version 10.4 of its Impact software suite, which has a simpler interface making navigation easy, with faster, more efficient image-saving and image-filtering tools. A new calibration mode is also available for user-entered, point-to-point calibration.

“Our continuing goal is to define and deploy the most advanced machine vision technologies, with the power and flexibility of PPT’s Impact software suite,” said Heller. “The IP67 capabilities are a welcomed addition to our M-Series family.”
