Multi-million dollar investment will increase production capacity to support OEM business

Pixelteq, a US provider of OEM spectral sensing and imaging products for aerospace, biomedical, industrial, scientific and security applications, has begun construction at its Largo, Florida facility to accommodate growth.

The multi-million dollar investment will provide cleanroom upgrades and additional capacity for wafer-level optical coating and patterning, building on the firm’s patented micro-patterning technology for optical filters and sensors.

'Clients are using our PixelSensor multispectral sensors to detect and quantify problems in more portable application-specific devices,' explained Randel Mercer, Vice President of Business Development.

'As next-generation sensors migrate to smaller devices and pixels with higher resolutions, the precision and cleanliness of optical coatings becomes more critical. This upgrade combines state-of-the-art processes with manufacturing capacity to serve growing OEM clients who need to scale miniaturised spectral sensors and wafer-level optics to volume production.'
