Process industries urged to attend skills conference

Published: 14-Apr-2009

Tom Crotty, chief executive of INEOS Olefins and Polymers, is the keynote speaker at the National Skills Academy Process Industries skills conference, which is being held at York Racecourse on 30 April.

The process industries contribute £22.7bn a year to the UK economy and with 40% of its workforce aged 45 and over, it is a ticking time bomb unless it attracts new people into the sector and upskills those already employed. The conference programme includes masterclass sessions, a Q&A session and six workshops covering a range of topics including the skills pipeline, shaping the future of skills apprenticeships and process safety.
