STC’s launch new airtight doors for cleanrooms

French cleanroom door specialist STC has launched a range of inflatable-seal sliding (or pivoting) airtight doors and one-piece airlocks suited to applications in the pharmaceuticals, fine chemistry, electronics and hospitals.


Marketed under the Alpha-Real brand-name, the products come in four versions and are tailor-made ISO 9001 (Version 2000)-certified product range is also available for cleanrooms.

The pivoting airtight bi-flush door with inflatable seal is intended for use in high-risk research laboratories and in decontamination airlocks. It is closed by an electromagnetic lock with a full-contact control plate, and incorporates phonic and thermal insulation. The sealing is perfect and door management is automatically controlled. It is suitable for Class 1 to 100 usage.

The sliding airtight door with inflatable seal (patent filed) allows the passage of materials and large equipment. This door can replace removable panels, thanks to its electro-pneumatic operation. Opening and closing times are extremely short.

The pivoting airtight, single or double panel bi-flush door with static seal can be installed with all types of panels. Floor sealing after closing is guaranteed by an automatic skirting. The door thickness ranges from 50mm to 80mm.

The service hatch is a one-piece hatch used to transfer objects while respecting the purity and pressure requirements of clean and dry rooms. It is available in all dimensions and is quick and easy to install. The interlocking of the doors can be mechanical or electrical. Many extra options are available, such as UV decontamination and filtered ventilation.

STC products are made of electro-galvanised or stainless steel and can be adapted to fit all types of support, masonry and partitions. STC doors are insulated using rock wool (M0 insulation) or pressure-injected polyurethane foam. STC can also manage the interlocking of airlocks with flush equipment.
