US-based supplier of high-purity electronic process chemicals and production services, Semiconductor Analytical Systems, (SAS), has opened a new analytical laboratory in Milpitas, CA, to support process development and production of microelectronic devices and other high-technology products.
Services include chemical analysis, detection and analysis of micro-contamination, thin film characterisation, failure analysis and quality control. Process troubleshooting and R&D services also are offered.
The new laboratory houses equipment for analysing product quality of semiconductor, magnetic disk, optical, photovoltaic (PV) and other products and to quantify contamination present in liquid, gas and solid samples.
Problem-solving expertise is provided by the lab’s R&D department where product samples and test data are evaluated to determine the root cause of contamination and other process problems that contribute to yield loss.
