Smooth operator

The new VP-G2 sterile robot, which has been developed by Denso for use in sterile cleanrooms, is now available in four different models from AA Robotics in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK.

Each robot has been designed to P100 cleanroom standards and is compliant with EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) and GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice standards. The VP-G2 is also IPA certified by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, covering airborne particle emission, hygienic design, chemical resistance, surface cleanability regarding particles, surface cleanability regarding selected micro-organisms and resistance against the action of micro-organisms. All wiring and connections to the robot are protected and isolated under its base. AA Robotics says the smooth shape and sanitary design is engineered to prevent the adherence or ingress of liquids or other particles.

“The development of the VP-G2 is something that we have been waiting for,” says Neil Billingham of AA Robotics.

“This robot has been developed in response to the needs of the pharmaceutical, food, laboratory, electronic and medical device industries. It will enable AA Robotics to introduce automation to cleanroom processes, thereby improving both quality and speed of production for our customers.”
