Sterigenics International, a Deerfield, Illinois, US-based provider of outsourced contract sterilisation services, has received ISO/IEC 17025:2005 food and chemistry accreditation at its laboratory in Mexico City.

Philip Macnabb, President and COO of Sterigenics International, said Mexico is a key region for the company, which has gamma sterilisation operations in Hidalgo and ethylene oxide sterilisation operations in Mexico City.

'This accreditation at our SteriPro Laboratories in Mexico City recognises our ability to provide the necessary testing capabilities and knowledge to accompany our world class processing facilities,' he said.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation signifies that the SteriPro laboratory is competent to carry out the highest quality microbiological and chemical tests necessary for medical device and food customers.

This accreditation, in conjunction with the current BSI Certifications for ISO/IEC 9001:2008, ISO 13845: 2003 & EN ISO 13485:2012, further demonstrates Sterigenics’ commitment to continual improvement in meeting customer specifications and regulatory requirements, the company said.
