Will improve service to medical industry

Suntron Corporation, a manufacturer of integrated electronics manufacturing systems (EMS) and embedded computing solutions, has expanded its facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

The firm has added 27,275ft2 (2,500m2) of additional space, including a Class 100,000 cleanroom, which brings the total facility to 106,000ft2 (9,850m2). This expanded area, including the cleanroom, is now fully operational.

The Tijuana facility has offered printed circuit board assembly, cable and harnesses, and complete box build for the past 25 years.

The firm says the addition of large-scale systems integration services and cleanroom capabilities, coupled with the plant’s existing ISO13485 certification, will allow it to serve better the high-end medical industry and other fields.

“By adding large-scale integration within our Low Cost Regional facility in Tijuana, we are positioning ourselves for future growth with a new capability,” said Rod Gunther, Suntron de Mexico plant manager.

“The additional space will help us better serve our customers, particularly those who are looking to manufacture in a low cost region but desire to be closer to home.”
