Tristel addresses air-borne transmission of infection with Air in Space deal

Published: 29-Nov--0001

Tristel, an AIM listed infection and contamination control business based in Newmarket, UK, has signed a five-year exclusive UK distribution agreement with Air in Space of France. Air in Space is a designer and manufacturer of mobile air-decontamination systems, which prevent hospital-acquired infections in immuno-compromised patients. The systems are approved by the US FDA for filtering out and inactivating airborne particles.

The Air in Space technology complements Tristel’s own chlorine dioxide system to help combat infection in hospitals. Tristel’s chlorine dioxide products address four of the five routes of transmission of infection in hospitals – instruments, surfaces, water and skin – and in combination with the Air in Space products can now also combat the fifth route: by air-borne micro organism. The Air in Space technology has been validated to eradicate completely the airborne flu virus H5N2. Tristel anticipates that the addition of the Air in Space products to its existing portfolio will contribute significantly to sales and profit growth in future years. www.tristel.com www.airinspace.com
