Doubles its space to accommodate new LED light module manufacturing line and Class 100,000 cleanroom

Xicato, a US-based developer of LED lighting, has relocated its San Jose, CA headquarters to accommodate a new manufacturing line for its next generation of products in an investment of 'millions of dollars'.

The new 24,000ft2 (2,230m2) facility more than doubles the size of Xicato’s previous San Jose facility. It includes areas for manufacturing, research and development labs and testing facilities for its LED modules. Class 100,000 cleanroom space is dedicated to a new manufacturing line and expanded reliability testing labs ensure product longevity and quality.

'Investment in our US operations enables Xicato to rapidly develop and introduce innovative technologies and products for the global lighting industry and starting next month we will transition to full manufacturing mode,' said Menko de Roos, CEO of Xicato.

'Our move timeframe was very short, and it was critical that the build-out and permitting went smoothly and matched our equipment arrival schedule.'

Xicato is focused on the delivery of quality light and says the new manufacturing facility allows its next generation of products to offer significantly improved efficiency to reduce energy use and costs, lower the cost of its modules and usher in a new era of intelligent lighting called Lighting 2.0.
