Ansell adds to the TouchNTuff gloves range

Two new styles provide maximum comfort and performance

The TouchNTuff 83-500 sterile polyisoprene and 93-700 sterile nitrile gloves are said to offer unrivalled protection, while providing maximum comfort and performance in manufacturing environments that require sterility.

The TouchNTuff 83-500 sterile polyisoprene glove is a new innovation made of 100% synthetic polyisoprene, a polymer designed to mimic the structure and attributes of natural rubber and said to be ideal for users with latex allergies (Type I).

Ansell says the style provides wearers with a “second skin” fit and feel and combined with the company’s patent-pending SureFit Technology, the gloves securely fit to the forearm and prevent the cuff from rolling down, maintaining the integrity of a sterile environment. The gloves also offer an enhanced anti-slip finish on the surface of the fingers and palm for a greater degree of grip in both wet and dry work environments.

The TouchNTuff 93-700 sterile nitrile glove offers robust performance and chemical splash protection. Laboratory tests indicate that the thinner gloves are more puncture- and tear-resistant than latex alternatives, maximising protection and providing superior strength.

Designed for sterile environments, the TouchNTuff 93-700 glove style provides a higher level of chemical splash exposure resistance for a wide range of chemicals, maintaining a high degree of comfort, longer cuffs for forearm safety and textured fingertips for optimal grip performance.

“On an annual basis Ansell sells more than a billion glove pieces globally from the TouchNTuff family of products, a statement of trust in the brand and Ansell design and innovation,” said Isabel Meurisse, category manager TouchNTuff EMEA.

Research conducted by Ansell for the TouchNTuff 83-500 sterile polyisoprene glove has found that 66% of those asked would wear the glove for longer periods when compared with their current glove style owing to its greater comfort, which apart from chemical splash resistance requirements, is an important factor when considering what glove to use. A longer wear time contributes to productivity, reduces the risk of particle contamination when changing gloves and minimises the number of gloves consumed on a daily basis.

The TouchNTuff range is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
