Berendsen Cleanroom Services achieves BSI 9001:2015

Berendsen Cleanroom Services has successfully achieved the transition to British Standards Institution (BSI) standard 9001:2015

The deadline for all companies to transition is May 2018 so Berendsen is ahead of many of its contemporaries.

BSI spent 2 days assessing if Berendsen Cleanroom meet the criteria for the changes in the standard, which encompasses the following:

  • emphasis on leadership
  • risk management
  • objectives measurement and change
  • communication and awareness
  • fewer prescriptive requirements

The findings of the report stated: “There is clear strategic direction demonstrated by the organisation and evidence of objectives cascaded throughout the business aligned to achieve the intended results. Leadership commitment, customer focus and risk based thinking are evidenced.”

Christine Kyle, Quality and Health and Safety Manager at Berendsen Cleanroom said: “The commitment of all our staff in progressing our business to standard 9001:2015 is evident in all our practices and procedures. We are exceptionally pleased that our continuing hard work has been recognised.”

Berendsen were recently acquired by Elis, a Pan-European textile, hygiene and facility services leader. This change in ownership and the consolidation of excellence in working practices will contribute to put the Newbury based cleanroom rental laundry at the forefront of being the contamination control partner across all cleanroom related industries in the UK.
