Christian Herten elected President of the Eurovent Association

He has served the interests of the HVAC-R sector for the past six years

Christian Herten has been elected President of the Eurovent Association, the European Committee of Air Handling & Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers, which is headquartered in Brussels.

Herten is Director for Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment Management at GEA Refrigeration Technologies. He succeeds Carlo Grossi (of DelClima, Italy), who had led the Eurovent Association from 2010. Since 2007, Herten, as Vice President on the Eurovent Board, has served the interests of the European heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration sector (HVAC-R) as a delegate of the VDMA (German engineering association). In addition to his broad experience in the associations of the HVAC-R sector, Herten can also call on his experience in the air treatment and refrigeration at GEA.

The Eurovent Association, founded in 1958, is a European federation of national sector associations of manufacturers of HVAC and refrigeration systems. It currently unites 17 country associations, as well as affiliated member companies from countries without such sector associations. These companies in turn represent more than 1,000 industrial firms.

The Eurovent Association is recognised by the EU Commission as representative of the European HVAC-R industry and also contributes to the ErP process of the EU that creates legislation for products involved with energy consumption.
