The ISO Class 8 Monobloc panel system was built to protect the manufacture of wound dressings, specifically the stitch bonding process

The cleanroom specified was a ISO Class 8, monobloc panel systemto required to protect the manufacture of wound dressings and has an overall footprint of 990m².

The company, which has a leading market positions in ostomy care, wound therapeutics, critical care and infusion devices, approached Connect 2 Cleanrooms with the requirement for a Monobloc Panel System to house multiple bonding machines and to assist with the manufacture of wound dressings.

With an overall footprint of 951m², the installation included a change area and cleaners store. The main cleanroom uses 60 individual fan filter units to control airbourne particulates in line with ISO 14644:2015 Class 8; temperature and humidity are maintained at 21°C ± 2°C and 35% - 65% RH to ensure stable environmental conditions, with an ECO system that continually logs all these data parameters.

Following an extensive design process, Connect 2 Cleanrooms ensured that the cleanroom was aligned with the clients current facility, where the corridors incorporated windows and doors. The walkable ceiling allows for easy maintenance of filters and lighting, without disrupting their manufacturing process.

There is enough resilience calculated so that if one unit is decommissioned, the room is still operational within classification 24/7 ensuring no business downtime.
