Provides a reliable, stable and bacterial barrier with excellent chemical resistance

Coveris Advanced Coatings, a global supplier of precision coated papers, films and speciality substrates for imaging, electronics, medical and optical technologies, offers the Reflex range of products which incorporate a SteriTouch antimicrobial additive during the manufacturing process.

The Wrexham, UK-based company says Reflex consists of high grade overlay films developed to meet the exacting requirements of screen printers, membrane touch switch and fascia-panel manufacturers and their end users. Based on optical grade heat-stabilised polyester it has a typical residual shrinkage of less than 0.3%.

Based on ionic silver technology, the SteriTouch antimicrobial additive prevents the growth of harmful organisms such as bacteria, mould and fungi.

All SteriTouch additives have FDA, EFSA and EPA approvals.

Reflex is coated in 1000 Class cleanrooms with a print receptive layer for UV and solvent based inks on one side and with an advanced UV cured resin on the other.

Abertillery, Gwent-based SteriTouch says the integration process ensures even distribution of the antimicrobial agent throughout the textured hardcoat and the film surface to provide a reliable, stable and bacterial barrier with excellent chemical resistance.
