EG Industries opens manufacturing facility in Dominican Republic

ISO 13485-certified medical-focused facility is equipped with cleanroom injection moulding, assembly and packaging capabilities


EG-Gilero, the medical division of EG Industries, has opened a medical device manufacturing facility in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The ISO 13485-certified medical-focused facility is equipped with cleanroom injection moulding, assembly and packaging capabilities and is located in the Las Americas Free Zone Park.

'This nearshore site and its capabilities will better serve our customers in the Caribbean and provide low cost assembly options for all of EG-Gilero’s existing and new customer base,' said Omar Ferretti, Vice President and Plant Manager for the facility.

'We are very excited about this new facility,' added Larry Jutte, President and COO of EG Industries. 'The ease of doing business in the Dominican Republic brings a lot of benefits to our customers, including the ease of logistics, lack of language barrier, the same time zone, and an ample labour pool.'
