Eurofins Microbiology, a specialist in bioanalytical testing, will on 1 March officially open its new, state-of-the-art, ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in Louisville, KY, US.
The microbiology laboratory, housing the company's ExpressMicro service, uses novel and specialised logistics to provide fast and high quality results when time to product release is critical, the firm said.
The laboratory offers testing services to rapidly quantify, detect, or identify pathogenic, spoilage, and probiotic micro-organisms.
Due to Louisville's proximity to more than 60% of US cities, and being home to the UPS worldport hub, the new laboratory location will make Eurofins ExpressMicro one of the fastest microbiology testing laboratories in the marketplace, the firm said.
According to Eurofins, through its partnerships with vendors and a global leader in package handling, the ExpressMicro service processes samples 6–8 hours earlier than standard overnight shipping allows.
