Eurofins ceo opens new London laboratory

Published: 27-Dec-2007

Eurofins Scientific ceo Dr Gilles Martin officially opened the company’s brand new purpose built laboratory in Acton, West London on 11 December 2007.

The new €1m UKAS accredited microbiology laboratory was built in response to a significant rise in demand for analytical testing in the food and environment sectors, and following the recent acquisition of Southern Water’s laboratories, it represents a further step in Eurofins’ expansion within the UK.

While microbiology will dominate testing work, the new facility will provide customers with access to the highly integrated Eurofins network, offering more than 25,000 in-house accredited analytical methods.

“We have ambitious growth plans for the future and the Acton facility will play a key role in helping us to achieve our objectives in the UK,” said Dr Martin, who founded the analytical and testing services group in 1987.
