Kathy Warye becomes vice president, Infection Prevention

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, has appointed Kathy Warye as vice president, Infection Prevention.

Prior to joining BD, Warye was chief executive of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), a position she has held for the past six years.

Warye will be based in Washington, DC and takes responsibility for building BD’s relationships with organisations committed to preventing healthcare-associated infections and will work with key opinion leaders globally to define and promote effective methods for reducing infections in the healthcare setting.

Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, BD employs approximately 29,000 people in more than 50 countries.

BD develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents.
