Manufactured from 316 stainless steel and modular in design

Industrial safety specialist Fortress Interlocks, based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, is unveiling its amGardS40 stainless steel interlock switches for high purity applications at June's Automatica show in Munich, Germany.

The amGardS40 is designed specifically for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing industries. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel and modular in design, the amGardS40 range can be configured to suit many other industrial applications.

The switches are supplied in enclosures sealed to IP69K, allowing them to be pressure washed at high temperatures; they also have a retention force of 10,000N – the highest currently available on the market – so are suitable for ensuring that guard doors are held closed until machines and/or processes are in a safe condition. Each module is just 40mm in width, so can easily be fitted to 40mm guarding sections or other areas where space is limited.
