Interflow has designed and built a new 55 sqm ISO Class 7 cleanroom for AMT Medical. This was built in one of the buildings on the knowledge and innovation campus Landgoed Zonneoord in Ede.
This allows the company to take the next step by marketing their innovative product that makes it possible to perform bypass surgery on the heart in a minimally invasive way. A glass wall over the full length of the cleanroom ensures that visitors do not have to change clothes, but can view the production process from a safe distance.
Realisation and planning
The new cleanroom was built due to expected growth. The new capabilities were not possible in the current cleanroom that the company rented from a university. The order was awarded in November 2021.
With the current long delivery times for some components, it was crucial to start the engineering as soon as possible so that the orders could be sent out before the Christmas holidays. Partly due to the good cooperation and rapid decision-making by AMT Medical during the engineering phase, the cleanroom could be delivered and validated by February 2022.

"Interflow was the only party that indicated that this was possible at such short notice. In fact, it's one of the few projects I've ever been on that was delivered on time," said Sander van Thoor, project leader at AMT Medical.
The building in which the cleanroom is built is less than 3 years old. The installation is therefore as good as new.
By making smart use of the existing installation and boosting it locally, only minor interventions were required for the installation to meet the requirements that were set.
van Thoor added: "We are extremely satisfied. Interflow has provided us with good technical advice and a practical approach."
