M+W Group acquires Senior Hargreaves in the UK


To support growth in science and research, technology manufacturing and energy based programmes

M+W Group, a global engineering and construction company, has bought one of the UK’s leading providers of air movement and ventilation ductwork solutions, Senior Hargreaves, for an undisclosed sum, expanding its presence in the UK.

M+W Group, which is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany and has its UK base in Chippenham, Wiltshire, was established a century ago. It focuses on leading companies in the fields of electronics, photovoltaics, life science, chemicals, energy, automotive, security and communication, as well as research institutes and universities, and employs more than 7,000 people worldwide.

Senior Hargreaves was founded in Bury, Lancashire in 1872, originally trading as Henry Hargreaves and Sons, prior to its acquisition by the Senior Engineering Group (now Senior plc) in 1957. The firm is a leading manufacturer and distributor of heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions with expertise across the nuclear, industrial, commercial, retail and leisure sectors.

M+W Group’s UK CEO, Peter Greenhalgh, said strong synergies between the two companies made the acquisition a logical step in the Group’s development.
