Medigenic keyboard combats contamination
Easy to use and easy to clean with a patented alert system
The Medigenic keyboard surface is completely flat but maintains the full travel feel of a conventional keyboard. Unlike a traditional computer mouse, the Medigenic mouse is impervious to liquid spillages and has a scrolling function.
The keyboard has a patented warning “alert system” to remind the users to clean it at regular intervals. This can be configured to the user’s specific requirements and de-activated once the keyboard has been hygienically cleaned.
NHS Research carried out at University College London Hospitals when the Medigenic keyboard was first launched in 2006 demonstrated that bacteria levels on keyboards are reduced by up to 70%, if they are cleaned every 12 hours.
The Medigenic keyboard is the keyboard of choice for the NHS, where reduction of cross- contamination and infection control is paramount, says UK distributor APC Contech, which is based in Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire.
