Nano-Key wastewater filter cartridges use nanofibre technology

Published: 17-Jul-2009

Nano-Key pharmaceutical and wastewater filter cartridges from Keystone Filter in the US use advanced nanofibre technology to filter through both electro-adhesion and mechanical processes. The cartridges, which feature ceramic nanofibres on a micro-glass matrix, provide outstanding reduction of virus, bacteria, cysts, endotoxin and many other submicron particles, the company says.

The Nano-Key also has polypropylene support components and is available either as a standard 2.75in diameter single layer or multi-layered Giant 4.5in diameter cartridge. The product’s efficency is said to be equal to or better than polymeric UF/MF membranes with much higher flow and much lower cost and pressure drop. The carbon version removes humic compounds and reduces total organic compounds (TOC).

Keystone Filter, a division of Met-Pro Corporation, is headquartered in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The company makes air and liquid filtration products for industrial, commercial and residential use.
