Extended validated recovery time allows samples taken out of microbiology operating hours to be held for analysis

Shield Medicare, the manufacturer of sterile contamination control products and medical devices for pharmaceutical, biotech and hospital applications, has introduced sterile transport swabs for environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and controlled areas.

They feature an extended validated recovery time of 48 hours, allowing samples taken out of microbiology operating hours to be held for analysis when the laboratory opens, without compromising the accuracy of the results.

Klerkit NRS Transwabs are supplied sterile and triple bagged to meet cGMP requirements. Each kit consists of a rayon/viscose swab with a long, flexible shaft and a tamper-resistant sealed tube containing neutralising rinse solution. Once the sample has been taken, the swab is inserted into the tube of neutralising rinse solution. The fluted cap design ensures the containment and integrity of the sample, ready for plating onto suitable growth medium in the laboratory. Since the tube contains exactly 5ml of solution, this ensures consistent dilution and aids aseptic technique.

The polyethylene packaging is easy to spray and wipe for efficient transfer and features Klertear, which makes the package easy to open, even when wearing gloves.
