Dutch builders have delivered a 400 sq m cleanroom project for the packaging provider

Professional Partners for Cleanrooms, PP4C, has completed a project for consumer packaging provider Sonoco. Dutch company Brecon Cleanroom Systems acted as the main contractor.

Sonoco's Dutch facility, located in Berkel Rodenrijs—some 18-minute drive north of Rotterdam—specialises in injection moulding and extrusion. The company contracted the services of PP4C for the construction of an approximately 400 sq m, GMP-C cleanroom and the execution of renovation work in the existing clean facilities.

The project also involved the construction of a new distribution centre for the PE and PP plastic raw materials.

Five companies part of PP4C worked together on this project. Kuijpers PHF Services was responsible for the E&W installation while Bolidt Kunststoftoepassing worked on the EP trowel floor. ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems supplied the speed doors and WERO took care of the cleaning validation. Brecon Clean Furniture supplied and installed the interior of the personal airlock area.

Sonoco’s roots can be traced to the Southern Novelty Company, which was founded in Hartsville, South Carolina (US), on May 10, 1899. Since then, it has grown into a global company, and have been active in both private and industrial packaging market.

The production of the packaging materials is partly intended for the GMP-related market, such as medicines and medical devices.
