Panelling products fight mould growth

Published: 19-Feb-2010

Galiperfil, a Spanish wood panelling manufacturer, hopes to increase its installations in hospitals and clinics by winning the rights to coat its panels with a lacquer finish incorporating Microban technology, which kills 99.9% of bacteria, including E.coli, Staph A and MRSA, and cannot wash off or wear away and will continue to work for the product’s lifetime.

Microban technology disrupts the biological functioning of these bacteria, causing them to die.

Adrian Hermida, product development manager at Galiperfil, said: “After a year of extensive study and trials that were very successful, we are pleased to have gained the exclusive rights to offer this product innovation to our customers.”

Since 1994, Galiperfil has specialised in the production of mouldings with natural wood veneers. Used in both the home, public spaces and commercial interiors, the Galiperfil product is offered in a range of decorative finishes.

The use of MDF or plywood chipboard as the base profile with the addition of quality veneers means that Galiperfil can offer high specification product lines at a competitive price.
