Pennoni Associates acquires B D Abel Engineering
Adds testing and balancing services capability to existing client base
Pennoni Associates, an American engineering, design and consultancy firm, has purchased the assets of B D Abel, of Wilmington, DE, adding testing and balancing services to its offering.
No financial details have been released.
B D Abel, which employs 40 people, offers National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certified HVAC testing and balancing services. It will in future be known as B D Abel, a Pennoni Company.

Founded in 1975, B D Abel provides engineering for laboratory and research facilities, cleanroom design, chiller/boiler plants, variable temperature/variable humidity environments, process and manufacturing, and electrical power design as well as standard mechanical, HVAC, and lighting design.
B D Abel’s President, Robert Hayden, will become Associate Vice President at Pennoni.
