Range of high capacity rectangular chamber sterilisers with the launch of a new 850L model, purposely designed for applications requiring the sterilisation of extra-bulky dense waste

Specialist laboratory autoclave manufacturer Priorclave is extending its range of high capacity rectangular chamber sterilisers with the launch of a new 850L model. The first model option in the new RSC 850 series has been purposely designed for applications requiring the sterilisation of extra-bulky dense waste.

The new autoclave incorporates a water jacket, effectively adding another pressure vessel around the main sterilising chamber; and, within the void, steam or cold water can be used to heat or cool the outside of the autoclave chamber.

To minimise condensation when processing porous materials and textiles, the walls of the vessel can be heated to maintain a dry load. In addition, when cold water enters the water jacket, it promotes faster cooling, which reduces the overall process time and ensures optimum sterilisation.

As standard, the new RSC 850 autoclave is fitted with an automatic water-fill; however, as a dedicated autoclave manufacturer, Priorclave is able to incorporate a number of options, such as a precycle vacuum to improve air removal and enhance steam penetration, and post-cycle drying. The company also offers a choice of steam generation solutions (electrical, direct steam) and an in-house steam generator for continuous sterilising applications.

The autoclave benefits from a robust hinged door, a patented hand-wheel door closure system for easy and safe opening/closing, and a convenient loading height of 800mm. It also boasts a thermal and pressure lock system to prevents the door being opened at load temperatures above 80°C and pressures above 0.15bar.

The new autoclave adds to the RSC range of standard high capacity steam sterilisers (230–850L), all of which feature an advanced microprocessor control system to guide operators through simple set-up procedures.

The robust build quality of the new autoclave includes epoxy coated panels and frame members treated with a highly effective antibacterial agent, making surfaces cleaner, more hygienic and providing durable lifelong protection against the threat of cross-contamination.This tough special epoxy finish is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E. coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and more than 50 other species.
