SC Johnson has agreed to buy Deb Group, a UK company focused on hygiene and skin care products for the industrial, commercial, healthcare and food markets.

No financial details have been revealed.

Deb Group is owned by Charterhouse Capital Partners. In 2010 the private equity company bought Deb for £335m.

For more than 70 years, Deb has offered skin care products for all types of workplace and public settings, including heavy-duty hand cleaners, foaming hand soaps, antibacterial washes, hand sanitisers and restorative hand creams.

SC Johnson expects the deal to be finalised in the coming months subject to regulatory approvals.

Based in the US, the company is a leading manufacturer of household cleaning products and products for home storage, air care, pest control and shoe care. Its brands include Pledge, Mr Muscle and Shout and it has sales of US$9bn.

Baird Global Investment Banking and BDT acted as SC Johnson's advisers in this transaction.
