Begins flexible film isolator and glove bag production

Solo Containment has began flexible film isolator and glove bag production at its Poynton, Cheshire manufacturing facility.

The manufacturing unit, known as the Glove Bag Shop, carries a range of polyether TPU (polyurethane) and PVC films. Solo is very proud of its new flexible sleeve material in frosted polyurethane, which was specially compounded for Solo in the US. This material substantially eases operator access into the flexible isolator envelope and reduces arm fatigue due to the supple nature of the film.

Targeting a “right first time” approach to flexible envelope fabrication, Solo selected a cnc plotter/cutter machine that permits direct input of client G/A drawings into the cutting file system, which allows dimensional checking of the cut file directly against the client drawing file.

Martyn Ryder, managing director of Solo, said: “We are proud that our investment in high end production equipment is bringing a step change in quality to the flexible sector – we are fully geared up to produce envelopes, soft wall cleanrooms and acrylic isolators for aseptic and API containment applications.”
