STEGO has won a patent litigation against Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment in China for patented locking mechanism of filter fans

STEGO Group has won a patent litigation against Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment in China.

The Germany-based company develops and manufactures products for control cabinet climatisation with innovative functions and intelligent design.

STEGO announced that Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment was fined and ordered to cease and desist by the Supreme Court in Beijing in the second instance for copying the patented locking mechanism of STEGO's FPI/FPO 018/118 filter fans without permission.

This mechanism ensures that the fans are securely fastened in the mounting recess without the need for tools.

Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment manufactures and exports filter fans, thermostat, heaters, cabinet LED lamps and panel parts.

Elmar Mangold, Managing Director of STEGO Group, said: “We are very pleased with this important victory and the Supreme Court's ruling.”

“It is further proof that STEGO is willing to protect its intellectual property rights and that we will actively defend ourselves against patent infringement,” Mangold concluded.

Branded products from STEGO Group are independently certified

The loss of the patent case in court will force Wenzhou Natural Automation Equipment to cease the sale and manufacture of its products in China, as well as their export to other countries, if the products contain the patented locking mechanism.

Furthermore, the Chinese company is required to destroy the inventory. The plagiariser is obligated to pay a high six-figure sum in damages (RMB¥) to the STEGO Group.

This verdict from the second instance is legally binding without the possibility of appeal.

STEGO Group emphasised that it will continue to protect its intellectual property rights and act against patent infringements worldwide.

A consistent patent filing strategy protects the company from product piracy and safeguards its economic performance.
