Pharmacleanse is a dedicated cleanroom cleaning company. Cleanroom Technology finds out more

Pharmacleanse is a company that has been set up to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical, biological and healthcare industries. The company has a specialist team of employees who have been extensively trained in class 100 and class 10,000 operating procedures and have been trained as microbial reduction cleaning technologists.

All of the procedures reflect current industry practices i.e. use of validated cleaning materials etc and are fully compliant with cGMP. After completion of all the operations, environmental and swab testing can be carried out by an independent microbiological testing company, which would supply a final qualification report. Validation protocol preparation is offered prior to any cleaning carried out. This would describe the cleaning methods, materials and disinfectants to be used, as well as the microbiological testing requirements. When completed, a report can be issued which would include all the relevant information including the testing results obtained. These would be necessary in a new facility IQ/OQ validation exercise.

Mr Thomas Kinsey, the Managing Director of the company had his idea for the company more than ten years ago. Knowing the complexity of setting up a specialist cleaning company, Mr Kinsey decided to invest in his mother company Beta-Clean, a cleaning company to the bakery and catering trade. This was set up to eventually finance the establishment of the new company. Beta-Clean began trading as Hygiene Cleaning Specialists in 1993 and is now an established cleaning company. Using finances from Beta-Clean, Pharmacleanse was set up.

In 1999, Pharmacleanse won an award for 'Best Development in Cleaning Materials and Processes from Pharmaceutical Cleanrooms '99. Their customers include Pfizer Ltd., P. E. Biosystems and Liverpool University.
