Improved software brings benefits

Flomerics has introduced Version 5 of its Flovent airflow design simulation software, which is said to offer substantial improvements in the areas of usability, CAD import and numerical stability.

The menus have been redesigned to guide the user more intuitively through the modelling process and the node tree now focuses on a hierarchical view of the project geometry. Analysis accuracy has been improved with a grid-based dissection CAD import method that reproduces the model's shape to a high level of accuracy. At the same time, it maintains numerical efficiency and avoids any issues relating to the quality and accuracy of the imported CAD data. Numerical stability has been increased by refining Flovent's object-based localised gridding, which means that the grid is constructed as objects are added.
