For its medical technology subsidiary Novoplast Schlauchtechnik

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, the medical technology subsidiary of the German Masterflex Group, has designed a new cleanroom as an extension of its existing extrusion production lines for different areas within medical technology. It will see the production of special hoses for applications in the fields of diagnostics, dialysis, drainage, urology, as well as for hearing-aids.

The firm
says it meets the high specifications of the EN ISO 14644 standard for Class 7 cleanrooms.

'In comparison a room of this class is a hundred times cleaner than an operating theatre in a hospital,' said Axel Schuchmann, General Manager of Novoplast Schlauchtechnik. 'Coupled with several other important investments in new extrusion facilities, our production lines are now running better than ever before.'

Masterflex CEO Andreas Bastin said the firm had seen steady growth in demand across the entire medical technology field.

'As this segment is not subject to larger economic fluctuations and has allowed us to gather valuable know-how, we have been able to push this field of production as industry-leading manufacturers of special hoses. That has paid off today. The demand for our high quality medical products is rising constantly.'

With the extension of the production capacity for medical technology at it site in Halberstadt, the Masterflex Group is not only meeting the needs of its customers, but it is also safeguarding current and newly created jobs.

Bastin added: 'The growth trajectory of our group is the result of our successful business strategy and an answer to the increasing demand for high-tech hoses throughout the entire world market. That’s why we see great potential for the future.'
