ISO Class 100,000 cleanroom is under construction at its moulding facility in Germantown, Wisconsin

The MGS Mfg Group, a US provider of engineered manufacturing solutions to the plastics industry, is building an ISO Class 100,000 cleanroom at its moulding facility in Germantown, Wisconsin. The addition will enhance the firm’s manufacturing and services for the healthcare market.

“With continual growth at our medical moulding facility in Antioch, Illinois, and steady growth within the medical industry as a whole, we determined that now is the right time to expand our cleanroom moulding capabilities,” said Jeff Kolbow, chief operating officer of MGS Mfg Group.

The 6,250ft2 cleanroom will house presses capable of single and multishot production. It will also have an extended ceiling height with a 10-ton overhead crane system to facilitate larger cavity production moulds and higher tonnage moulding machines. Automation equipment capable of providing post mould value added operations would also be included. This plant within a plant concept is scalable to approximately twice the square footage in 90 days as demand dictates.

The existing facility currently provides injection moulding and continuous extrusion shuttle blow moulding, as well as an on-site preventative maintenance tool shop. The company produces parts for a number of markets, including consumer, medical, packaging, electronics, and automotive.

Construction of the new cleanroom will be completed in June, with ISO Class 100,000 Certification to occur simultaneously. The company is also working towards obtaining ISO 13485 Certification by summer.

Along with its production facility in Germantown, the MGS Mfg Group has facilities in Libertyville and Antioch in Illinois, and Chihuahua, Mexico.

MGS Mfg Group manufacturing processes include engineering, design, tooling, conventional injection moulding, continuous extrusion shuttle blow moulding, multishot technologies, automation, assemblies, and complete turn key manufacturing systems.
