Foamtec takes the strain out of cleanroom mopping

Published: 2-Jun-2009

Foamtec International’s PharmaMOP weighs only 485g and is said to be the cleanroom industry's lightest mop for cleaning and disinfecting aseptic manufacturing areas. Key to the design is a patent-pending mop head that assures compliance with contact time SOPs when applying disinfectants in cleanrooms.

‘Customers are excited about PharmaMOP's control and the ease of use it affords the operator when applying disinfectants to walls, ceilings and non-skid flooring,’ said Brian Thaler, vice president of marketing at Foamtec International.

The head of the PharmaMOP is made from cleanroom foam enclosed in cleanroom polyester or microfibre fabric. This tri-layer design eliminates the need for a wringer and enables operators to apply the proper amount of disinfectants to comply better with decontamination SOPs. John Lindsay, president of the Aseptic Training Institute, based in Clayton, NC, said: ‘It is common for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers to need multiple mopping systems but PharmaMOP's light weight and large surface area allows them to consolidate mop types, easing operator training and SOP compliance.’
