Grace fabric offers comfort, durability and stain resistance

A new line of antimicrobial linens that inhibit the growth of bacteria on their surface is being introduced by LifeThreads at the Clean Show 2015 (Booth 4116) at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The linen product family includes bed sheets and pillowcases that are made from a new fabric called Grace, which is more durable than cotton or filament polyester. Grace fabric is manufactured using a spun polyester process, using spinning technology to change the orientation of the fabric fibres and give the yarn superior characteristics.

The fabric maintains the look and feel of cotton and other blends, but will not shrink or lint and is inherently stain resistant.

The linens are treated with a zinc-based active ingredient that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by 99.99% in laboratory tests and provides the linens with antimicrobial, antifungal and odour-resistant protection.

Specially designed for healthcare environments, the linens are manufactured to withstand more than 200 industrial washing cycles and require no special handling or laundry protocols.

‘LifeThreads’ medical garments already act as an added layer of protection against cross-contamination for patients and healthcare providers,’ said Karan Jhunjhunwala, Founder and CEO of LifeThreads, adding: ‘Linens are a natural next step in our goal of limiting cross-contamination and fighting these dangerous infections.’
