Bactest's Speedy Breedy is a lightweight, portable respirometer which propagates and detects microbial activity (including bacteria, yeast, and others) in a totally closed single, or dual sample, two-chamber instrument that maintains culture conditions with purpose-designed, disposable culture vessels. It has been designed for both industrial applications and research.
Samples are inoculated into the culture vessel and Speedy Breedy closely controls growth conditions to a pre-determined protocol to facilitate rapid replication of cells or microbes.
The unit's 50ml culture vessel eliminates the need for cleaning potentially hazardous culture bottles. A range of media can be used, including known or proprietary formulations.
Speedy Breedy can be used as a stand-alone device or connected to a PC. Using a PC researchers can design and download predetermined protocols to the device and upload experimental results for analysis. It also has a removable SD card for field research.
