King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions.
Lighthouse Worldwide Solutions is a US-based specialist in real-time contamination monitoring systems and airborne particle counters.
The new partnership aims to advance innovation, education, and workforce development in clean technology and related sectors.
Signed on 25 July 2025 at the university’s Faculty of Applied Sciences in Bangkok, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlines collaboration in academic research, laboratory development, and cleanroom training to support Thailand’s growing high-tech industries, particularly electronics, semiconductors, and medical technology.
As part of the agreement, Lighthouse will support the development of cleanroom laboratories and calibration facilities to benefit both academic and industrial users
The company’s solutions are used by major technology and pharmaceutical firms, including Samsung, TSMC, and Pfizer.
The MOU was signed by various members from both organisations, including Hasim Solmaz, VP of Innovation at LWS, and Valeerat Jirawattanapong, Managing Director.
As part of the agreement, Lighthouse will support the development of cleanroom laboratories and calibration facilities to benefit both academic and industrial users.
The partnership also includes joint research initiatives, curriculum development, equipment support, and guest lectureships.
The collaboration is closely aligned with Thailand’s national semiconductor strategy
The collaboration is closely aligned with Thailand’s national semiconductor strategy, which targets 500 billion baht in new investment by 2029. Between January and March 2025, the country’s integrated circuit exports grew from $783.55m to $928.35m.
“This partnership exemplifies our shared vision in nurturing talent and accelerating technological advancements vital to Thailand’s industrial growth,” said Dr Phianpoon Kamoljitprapha.
Hasim Solmaz added: “We are honoured to work with KMUTNB to enhance cleanroom technology education and look forward to making a positive impact for industries in Thailand and globally.”
