The Filtration Society is to hold a one-day conference and exhbition on Filter Testing and Standards on 28 October 2008 in Chester in the UK.

The Filter Testing series of conferences takes place approximately every two years and is one of the most popular in The Filtration Society's calendar. The presentations are carefully designed to maximise the scientific and technical data provided for the delegates. They will be introduced to the latest pioneering research on the measurement and performance of filter media, not just in process optimisation but in compliance to the latest standards.

A very important and popular format of the conference will be the poster session, where the delegates will receive a 5-minute 'burst' of information on a wide range of filter testing techniques. Competition for space is always fierce and those expressing an interest so far include Benelux Scientific and Topas (new porometers), Tecan (calibration standards for porometers), PMT (particle counters), Anton Paar (filter Zeta potential measurements), Clear Edge, Filter Ability Ltd (practical filter testing) and Nanosight (particle sizing in the nanometer range).

Approximately 100 highly focused international delegates are expected. Although mostly from Europe they have in the past also come from the USA, the African continent and Asia.

The number of display tables in the exhibition will be limited to about 20. On the experience of previous conferences, it is recommended that prospective exhibitors apply early.
