Breaking the mould: Bioquell's HPV decontamination service
With regulatory pressure mounting to move away from more traditional decontamination methods, the use of hydrogen peroxide vapour (HPV) is a safe, practical, reliable and viable alternative.
Hydrogen peroxide vapour decontamination systems were historically large, expensive and limited to small, highly specialised pharmaceutical applications.
Bioquell's technology breaks the mould and offers a wide range of equipment and services able to tackle volumes of 60m3 in less than two hours, and is scalable to provide entire building decontamination in less than 24 hours. With excellent material compatibility it is safe to use on sensitive electrical and electronic equipment.
Since the launch of Bioquell's Room Bio-Decontamination Service (RBDS), the technology has been applied across a diverse range of industries, such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, lifesciences, and biotech; indeed, wherever the control of surface contamination is of paramount importance.
RBDS can be used as part of a periodic maintenance plan or as an emergency deployment due to unforeseen contamination spikes.
Bioquell's HPV systems provide a high level of decontamination, with a large catalogue of independently verified biological efficacy covering spores, bacteria, viruses, moulds and fungi. To verify the process every decontamination cycle is challenged with biological indicators (6-log loading of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores).
Equally, and unlike many alternatives, HPV is non-carcinogenic and decomposes at the end of the process to leave only oxygen and water vapour. The upshot of this is that no remedial cleaning process is required (as no residues are left), further reducing the downtime of any area.
Bioquell's RBDS is a unique service providing hydrogen peroxide decontamination for any enclosed space, from vehicles to entire buildings. Each cycle uses independently enumerated biological indicators, ensuring the RBDS process is verified in a challenging and repeatable way. RBDS is globally available, offering the benefits of HPV decontamination without the expensive capital outlay, that is delivered in a professional and consistent manner.
