The Sweden-based global air filtration specialist Camfil has announced the acquisition of Italian company F.C.R., as part of a move to expand its local manufacturing, sales and technical capabilities in Italy.
The transaction was completed on 1 January, subject to customary conditions.
F.C.R., headquartered in Milan, has a long-established presence in the Italian market.
The company specialises in the design and manufacture of air filtration and air diffusion solutions for applications where air quality and performance are critical.
Camfil is a producer and developer of global air filters, HEPA filters, and advanced air purification systems for commercial and industrial applications.
Following the acquisition, F.C.R. will become part of the Camfil Group.
“Italy and southern Europe are important markets for high‑quality air filtration. By bringing F.C.R. into Camfil, we strengthen our local presence,” Ola Skoglund, VP Corporate Communication at Camfil, told Building Better Healthcare.
Both companies have confirmed that day-to-day operations, customer support and production activities will continue as normal during the integration process.
Camfil said the acquisition will enable it to broaden its product and service offering in Italy, combining its global technology portfolio with F.C.R.’s local market knowledge and engineering expertise.
The company currently operates 30 manufacturing sites, six R&D centres, local sales offices in 35+ countries and has about 6,000 employees.
“Together with F.C.R., we can reach new customers and sectors in Italy and Europe while offering unmatched filtration quality, lower operating costs, and strong support for their sustainability goals,” said Skoglund.
