CleanSpace launches ColdSpace division for cold storage facility projects

The US cleanroom design-and-build company has launched a new division offering integrated construction, refrigeration and automation services for cold storage and temperature-controlled facilities

US-based cleanroom design-and-build company CleanSpace has launched a new division, ColdSpace, extending its integrated construction model into the temperature-controlled facilities market.

Announced on 27 October, ColdSpace will deliver design-and-build services for refrigerated processing spaces, walk-in coolers, freezer warehouses and larger cold storage facilities.

The division will serve customers in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and life sciences, and industrial manufacturing sectors, alongside other industries requiring specialist temperature-controlled environments.

Under its delivery model, ColdSpace will bring building construction, refrigeration, racking, automation, controls and software together under a single contract.

The approach is intended to give clients one accountable partner for coordinating the building and operational systems required for temperature-controlled facilities.

By integrating refrigeration, storage, material flow and building requirements during the early stages of a project, the company aims to identify potential challenges sooner and reduce coordination gaps between different contractors and suppliers.

CleanSpace said the model would also give clients greater control over project scope, programme and costs.

The launch builds on CleanSpace's existing capabilities across planning, design, engineering, US manufacturing, construction, qualification and ongoing facility support.

The company provides cleanrooms, cold rooms, dry rooms and other controlled environments, with ColdSpace extending its integrated delivery model into complementary markets.

To support the new division, ColdSpace has appointed Michael O’Neill as Director of Sales, National, and Michelle Grojean as Director of Marketing.

The company also recently appointed Andrew Hogan as Director of Project Execution as it expands its project delivery capabilities across the UK and Europe.

The appointments will support the division's market development, customer relationships and business growth.

CleanSpace has previously delivered projects for clients across the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, including a biopharmaceutical cleanroom project in Singapore.

The company was also appointed preferred cleanroom design-builder for tenants at Dallas-based innovation campus Pegasus Park, where it established a 5,000 sqft cleanroom showroom featuring ISO Class 5-8 environments.
