Contura opens new GMP-compliant cleanroom facility following three-year project

The medical device manufacturer has completed a three-year project to plan, design, construct and validate a new cleanroom facility for GMP-compliant production

Contura has officially opened its new cleanroom facility following three years of planning, design, construction and validation.

The company is a medical device manufacturer specialising in hydrogel-based products for orthopaedic and other healthcare applications.

The company said the new facility will strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and support the supply of its products to patients and healthcare professionals worldwide.

The production facility is GMP-compliant, although Contura has not disclosed details of its cleanroom classification, size or specific production capacity.

Contura thanked its project team for its work on the facility, highlighting the planning and validation involved in delivering the new production environment.

Engineering and consultancy companies NIRAS and Kuatro Group were also involved in the project.

Contura said the new facility will help provide a reliable supply of its products to international markets in the coming years.

The company manufactures medical products, including hydrogel-based products for orthopaedic applications.
