Vaisala has introduced a hand-held meter for measuring relative humidity and temperature "where accuracy is important".
The HM70 is said to be robust, has a graphical LCD display for trend monitoring and can function as a data-logger. Optional software enables interfacing with a PC. A sensor purge option helps maintain accuracy where high concentrations of chemicals are present, while a pre-heat feature reduces measurement delays by keeping the sensor dry when the probe is inserted into hot and humid processes. It comes with a choice of probes for use in temperatures from -700C to 1800C. Two probes can also be connected at one time and a humidity difference displayed, which simplifies environmental chamber profiling for example.
